3 new ways to plan and book travel in Search
Google brings flight price tracking, points and miles rate display, and hotel booking directly into AI Mode in Search, letting users plan and purchase travel without leaving the conversation.
Google is weaving travel planning deeper into Search with three new AI Mode capabilities: flight price alerts, rewards rate display, and direct hotel reservations. The upgrades let users track fares, check point valuations, and book stays entirely within the conversational interface, eliminating the need to switch between apps or tabs.
Price tracking, a longtime feature of Google Flights, now lives inside AI Mode. Travelers describe their route and dates, and the system surfaces options from more than 300 airlines and booking sites. Once a user confirms they want to monitor a fare, AI Mode sends an email if prices shift for that destination and travel window, so deals are never missed. The feature is live in over 180 countries and territories.
AI Mode also surfaces award pricing in points and miles for both flights and hotels. Users can ask to see the cost in their specific loyalty currency — for example, requesting nonstop options using accumulated miles on a given departure and return date. The system pulls live data from partners to show exactly how many miles a redemption requires. The feature is global at launch, initially supporting Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels, Hilton, and Wyndham, with Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM, and Lufthansa coming soon.
Hotel booking has also moved into the chat. Users describe their trip and preferences to receive a visual list of options with reviews and key decision factors. Once a property is selected, AI Mode guides the booking: users tap "Continue on Google" next to any integrated partner, then pick their room, review cancellation terms, and pay securely through Google Pay. The hotel or platform acts as merchant of record and handles any service issues. The feature is rolling out across Booking.com, Choice Hotels, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG, Marriott, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham in the U.S.
These additions position AI Mode as a more capable end-to-end travel agent, handling research, price monitoring, and transactions in a single conversation. Flight tracking and miles display are available now, while hotel booking continues its gradual rollout.
