Scientists across additional fields\u2014including those pursuing compute-intensive projects such as the kind that contributed to advances on the Riemann zeta function and protein design\u2014are now eligible to apply for up to $50,000 in credits per project, with any researcher permitted to submit an application regardless of their discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement reflects Anthropic's broader strategy to embed Claude more deeply into scientific workflows through its dedicated Claude Science product, which bundles common research tools, generates auditable outputs, and supplies flexible compute access. Current restrictions still apply for certain areas. Researchers working in biology and chemistry remain limited to Opus-class models, as Claude's Fable models continue to block professional queries related to biology and drug development due to dual-use risk concerns.
